Hello there, I'm Jim. I was born and raised in Dumbarton .... in the distant past. On leaving school I worked in the Scottish Colorfoto plant in Alexandria. In my mid-teens I left for a change of career and enlisted in the Royal Air Force and trained as a photographer. This covered all aspects of air and ground photography and lithographic printing.

The job took me to many countries - Singapore, USA, Canada, Cyprus, Germany and Iceland. Most of the UK bases had closed-circuit radio stations and it's where I got a love of broadcasting.

On demob, after twenty-five years service, I returned to Dumbarton qualified as a driving instructor and started my own successful driving school.

I joined Hospital Radio Lennox and stayed until its closure. With the driving school now very busy I took a back seat from broadcasting and decided to wait for quieter times when I would have the spare time to engage fully again.

That time has come with Lomond Radio.

I would describe my show as a pot pourri of musical excellence extravaganza.

And I start your weekdays with the Lomond Radio Breakfast Show, Monday to Friday 8am to 10am live from our studios at Strathleven House bringing you all you need to start your day including the latest news, weather and traffic updates plus the the best music!
